Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of North Dakota partners with Special Olympics North Dakota

(Grand Forks, ND) Masons of North Dakota recently recognized Special Olympics North Dakota as a statewide partner through the support of its society and current and pledged financial support. Special Olympics North Dakota received a financial boost back in July, thanks to the local fraternity. The support will go towards efforts that address inactivity, injustice, intolerance and social isolation by encouraging and empowering people with intellectual disabilities through sport.

“One thing we can count on in North Dakota”, said Kathleen Meagher, CEO/President of Special Olympics North Dakota, “is the sense of community. And now, more than ever, because of the coronavirus, you feel than sense of community thanks to organizations like the Free Masons and so that we can work to make sure that no one is forgotten during this critical time around the state and country.”

“We see the impact Covid-19 has had on our communities,” said Bob Wedberg, “and the longing for the sense of normalcy and we hope that this finical contribution can bring that back to Special Olympics North Dakota and its athletes.”

Grand Master of Masons in North Dakota, Bob Wedberg, Past Master, Geoff Bengtson and Past Grand Master, Tony Telken, presented the check to President/CEO Kathy Meagher and COO Kevin Robson.
